I just got the call today! I'm heading onto the mission field for TWO WEEKS!
I have two weeks to serve on location at some of our ministry sites for Adventures Youth! I had the option months ago to go anywhere this summer and wanted to devote my time 100% to AY. I believe in this program SO MUCH!
Already the testimonies coming back from the field are about youth groups being totally wrecked for Jesus and bringing LIGHT to dark places. Scripture says that God is CLOSE to the brokenhearted, and that is where these youth and our teams have been this summer!
They have been FIGHTING to be like Jesus to these communities. Not in a forceful or abrasive way but in a way of love, generosity, time, relationship building. They have weekly Adventure Camp/VBS and Sports camps. They work tirelessly to experience God in NEW WAYS, through listening prayers and experiencing hearing God's voice and acting on it in good and beautiful ways!
SO, I get to JOIN in THAT! I will, this weekend, head out to two sites for two weeks!
First I head to rural Appalachia! A place overwhelmed by poverty and economic struggle. Here the teams share light, and the high-energy team on site breathes life into the community!
Second, I head back to Atlanta! This is an opportunity to serve refugees from all over the world. I will serve with the team as support and encouragement. Breathing life into them as they serve through the end of the summer! Then we will all head to debrief the amazing things God has done at the Adventures home base.
I have a BIG ask. I've been praying for supporters who will be able to give financially but in so doing it would actually bless them so much in return. Maybe I'm praying for you? In order to do all of this with Adventures, I need financial support. God has BIG PLANS for me in this and the teams, as well! I am still short of my financial goal significantly and rely on this for my salary. I need you to partner with me, maybe even only once for as little as $5 or $10 to replace a meal out.
I am unendingly grateful for your support in the past! All of the blessings to come will be for you to celebrate as well! Please consider giving! Because of your generosity I am able to serve others with the love of God and to provide for my own basic needs as well.
I am so blessed to be able to serve not only the communities where we send groups but my own community here in Gainesville, by continuing fighting in the anti-trafficking movement and visiting with women trapped in the sex industry to bring light and messages of hope and freedom!!
